Families and Traditional Values

Our nation is in need of a new Great Awakening, a revival of faith in God. It is the place of the church, not the government, to instill such a revival. But too often, government policies discriminate against Christians and traditional values. For too long, politicians have enacted laws that elevate other, “alternative” living arrangements to a status equal to the traditional family, and thereby weaken the traditional family’s special and necessary place of primacy in any lasting society.

Kevin Calvey has been a leader in seeking policies that strengthen the family unit, such as protecting traditional marriage and respecting the right to life of innocent children.

Kevin has long been a pro-life leader. While a student at Georgetown law school, Kevin interned with the National Right to Life Committee, the oldest and most prominent pro-life organization in the country. While in the legislature, Kevin authored numerous pro-life bills, including bills to give women the right to see their own ultrasounds.

President Obama and Democrats in Congress are enacting an extremist liberal agenda to undermine the traditional family. Among other horrible effects, these liberal policies would:

• Make it legal to take your daughter to get an abortion without your knowledge; Punish medical providers who out of conscience refuse to participate in abortion;
• Use “hate crimes” laws to criminalize preaching the Bible’s words on homosexuality.
• Kevin will stand strong against such extremist policies.
• Kevin is proud to be endorsed by Concerned Women for America, a prominent national advocacy group for the right to life and other social conservative issues.

“Today, it’s not Christians who seek to criminalize dissenting views. The issue today is whether liberal anti-Christian extremists will continue to succeed in criminalizing and marginalizing traditional values. I will proudly defend our values from attacks by liberal extremists.”
