Oklahoma City (January 5, 2010) - Kevin Calvey, Republican candidate for Oklahoma’s Fifth Congressional seat, was recently endorsed by the Concerned Women PAC (CWPAC), affiliated with the national conservative organization Concerned Women for America.

Concerned Women for America is the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization with more than 500,000 grassroots members nationwide. Their goal is to elect solid pro-life, pro-family conservatives to Congress.

In their endorsement announcement, CWPAC noted Calvey’s conservative record in the Oklahoma Legislature.

“During his eight year tenure in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, Rep. Calvey was known as a pro-life leader,” said Mike Mears, executive director of CWPAC.

Beverly LaHaye, founder and chairman of Concerned Women of America, added, “I can think of no one better to continue the conservative legacy that Congresswoman Mary Fallin has left than Kevin Calvey. . .We endorsed Kevin over all others in the race, because not only is he right on all the issues and his service to our country, but because I trust him to lead on the issue of life when he gets to Congress.”

Calvey welcomed their support and commented on the endorsement.

“I’m honored to have the support of this tremendous organization that cares so much about the conservative issues I believe in,” said Calvey. “With a young child of my own, and one more in the womb, I know firsthand that life is a blessing from God. I will always fight to protect that blessing,” continued Calvey.

Concerned Women for America is the latest in a long line of leading conservative organizations to endorse Kevin Calvey for Congress. They join the Oklahoma Rifle Association; Iraq Vets for Congress; and the Club for Growth in supporting Calvey’s Congressional bid.

Kevin Calvey is a small businessman and a conservative former State Representative from Del City.
